cpu after format....

i formatted my h/d and installed vista from xp,i had my 6600 overclocked to 3.1 but now it's gone back to the normal setting of 2.4 ?
i didn't know that if i formatted a h/d it would reset the chip.
can someone tell me if this is the case please.

The operating system should have no effect on the BIOS overclock.

ive just loaded up cpuz and now it's gone down to 1.4 ?
i think that must be the speed step kicking in ?

you should have put your bio settings back to default before installing vista problems will arise, and then put your o/c back after installed, but nothing to worry about

can i reset my bios setting's to there default's now and restart my overclocking again in vista ?
