Hi All

Strange one... I've recently upgraded my PC and donated the older kit to my Son. I removed the Asus Motherboard, i7 9700K and Aorus 360mm AIO from the case and put it aside ready to go in the Son's new case. I never physically removed the AIO from the CPU, taking care not to pull the pipes etc. Now that everything is in his case, the 9700K is now running a lot hotter than before? When it was in my case, idle was 30-32c and load 55-65c tops. Now it idles at 50c and load 85-88c!!!? I removed the pump, cleaned of the thermal paste and re-applied, but still runs at these higher temps? Any tips on what else it could be etc?

Cases are:
Mine - Lian-Li 001 Dynamic XL
Son's - Lian-Li 001 Dynamic

Thanks.

Is the pump running. Does the pump plug into a board header for power in which case can you check the pump header in the the BIOS to see if it's running at typically 2000-3000RPM.

Is the heat spreading to the radiator fairly quickly after starting from cold.
