CPU always at 100c

Finished screwing my new Rampage Formula E8600 pc together, installed Vista and everything is fine, almost.

Whenever I boot up, even from scratch, there is a CPU temperature warning.

The BIOS and the Asus Probe II software reckon the CPU temperature is always at 100c, (never less, never more).

This is despite an Xigmatek cooler, with crossbow kit and arctic silver applied sparingly.

In fact I've reinstalled the cooler and redid the arctic silver just to be safe.

I reckon this constant reading of 100C might be wrong, but how do I find out for sure without the risk of cooking the cpu?

Can you buy cpu sensors?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I've done all the usual; attaching the fan, fitting the cooler, using thermal paste etc, but I'll check the core temperatures and see what that tells me.

Thanks guys.

I found the programme Core Temp and at idle it has:-

Core 0 36 Degrees
Core 1 27 Degrees

Looks like it was a dodgy sensor (can you replace these?), thanks again for the suggestions.
