Hi there,

I've recently built a new gaming rig and the temptation to tweak my i7 4770k, based on the general message that they overclock into 4+ easily, is too much.

In terms of my overall system spec, it can be seen here in my 'spec me' thread where I got an absolute load of help.

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=25676631&postcount=170

So I started reading through a few threads here and links out to other sites and there is a LOT of information to read, all of a sudden doesn't seem so straight forward ;)

Anyway, my main initial question is the use of automated OC through the Motherboard.

My Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H Intel Z87 mobo has an option called 'Performance Upgrade' in which there is a drop down list with increasing percentage options e.g. 20%

So I went ahead and selected 20% and reboot. Everything seemed to work ok and my CPU was running at 4.3Ghz although my vcore was over 1.3v which I think is a bad thing. It also has modified several of the Memory settings I'm guessing to keep everything in sync.

So it boots fine into my desktop but when I run 3DMark if crashes the PC after about 5 minutes of running. Not a reboot just a full switch off.

Can anyone help me identify what settings it has got wrong as I imagine the 4770k will go above 4.3Ghz stable under H100i cooling.

I've provided the screen shots from the BIOS as they will mean a lot to someone with the knowledge I hope, the left and right borders contain a wealth of values
