Hi,
Having installed a new graphics card AT1 Radeon Saphhire 2600 PRO AGP (upgraded from Hercules 3D Prophet 3) and installed a new Corsair 650W PSU (upgraded from a Chieftec 300W) my moco and cpu appear to be running much hotter than I remember.
MB = 31-34 degrees C
CPU = 56 -71 degrees C
I think temps were more like the following before the new installations.
MB = 32
CPU = 53
I have also installed two new cooling fans. One to replace the 80mm exhaust at rear of case and a NEW 90mm front case cooling fan. Both the new fans are Acousti quiet models.
I have checked that all the fans, including graphics are working okay and are installed the right way around!!
My perception is that the new acousti rear case fan and the PSU fan (Although larger) do not exhaust as much air from back of case. It certainly is less noticeable on my hand.
Pardoxically, I am currently getting no sudden reboots since the new installations although I had started to get then in the weeks just before I installed the new kit. I did clear out a lot of dust.
Could anyone suggest my next move. Although machine appears to be running okay everything I read (and monitoring programmes suggest board and CPU are running too hot).
Any ideas welcome.
Asus A7n8X rev 2.0
2GB DDR RAM (dual channel mode)
Corsair 650w PSU
Athlon 3200+ (2.2GHz)
Running on XP Home
Tower Case is that supplied by MESH when I bought the system in 2001. It's a big case by todays standards.
