Afternoon all,

Looking for a bit of advice really. Currently looking at buying a Gigabyte GA-880GM and sticking a AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1090T Black Edition on it, firstly would this motherboard be ok for the cpu?

Secondly, i have no idea what PSU should go on it, will anything above a 500w be ok?

Thirdly have you considered an Intel i5-2500K?

In most tests it beats an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition.

i5-2500K v AMD Phenom II X6 1090T

Note that in some of those tests lower is better.

The difference is even greater when you consider you can overclock the 2500K by around 40% without too much difficulty and the 1090T will overclock by around 25%.
