CPU any good after phase change?

I have been offered a CPU by am on-line friend that as been used under phase change to find max CPU speed only used for 2hr's max. will the CPU have a reduced life ?

CPU = Phenom II x2 656, Unlocked to X4 B65 running @ 7Ghz = £40

For the sake of around £80 for a new one, i just wouldnt bother spending £40 on one that you dont know how long its going to last.
And running any cpu faster than the recomended clock speed (in this case almost double) will decrease the life of the chip mate.

Too risky dont you think? Could be very genuine for all i know.

Only over volting will kill a chip not over clocking it. He would have over volted it to get them clocks. But i would have thought it would be ok as he's not used it for long.

Ask him if there is any warranty on it. If it does did you can send it back
