Evening folks....just a little query if someone could answer...& I've googled but nothing much returned...I have a 4770k processor paired with an Asus Z87-pro mobo of which I use the onboard sound. Just noticed there is an option in BIOS named CPU audio device...& it's on by default. Should I turn this off given I use mobo onboard sound? Unless I've missed something didn't know the processor had onboard audio.

Cheers in advance..Andy.

My Hero has this option as well. Because I have a sound card I disabled it and have had no problems. Pretty sure it was disabled when I used the onboard as well.

Must be different on the formula then? Cant see such an option in the manual for my board. I only have the option for hd audio enable/disable.

It's under system agent configuration. Tho non the wiser..also checked link...cheers for the replies. Not really had any issues concerning it since build a couple of years ago that I'm aware of so I'll leave as be..was just curious..tnx again....Andy.

It probably just means the CPU does the audio when using processor graphics via HDMI. If you don't want to use that then you should be safe to disable it.

Ok cheers Bahamut....disabled it out of interest & no noticeable change anywhere with my setup.
