would i get a bottleneck with my old :( 754 2800+ Athlon 64 with this card?

also would my Antec NeoPower 480w be able to handle the card?

if u had the choice of getting a mid-upgrade to my pc, being either this GPU.. or a 939 board / CPU (4000+) .. for gaming.. *** would be the best option?

Thanks for answers

There's not much point in going AM2, you may as well go Conroe. They're around the same price and you can get some mobo's that still support DDR with Conroe, which you can't with AM2, so that would mean new RAM as well.

You could pick up cheap 2nd hand s939 mobo and cpu which, in games at least, will perform pretty much the same as AM2.

A quick search through a well known auction site shows there's plenty of packages that you can pick up for under £100 that should help

Oh yeah forgot about his ram.

Erm 3500+ ish cpu for 939 is about 55-60 quid ish from most places new, probably 40 quid used. Motherboard i picked up mine a asus a8v deluxe for 30 quid used. So for 70-100 quid u can get a good upgrade there.

If you get a pci-e 939 board u can get the cheaper pci-e version x1950pro. Or get an asrock agp and pci-e mb. Sure it wont win awards but it gives u upgradability from agp to pci-e whenever u can move to it.

well the general idea if i was going to do a mini-upgrade now was to just do that and then later in 2007 or early 2008 do a big upgrade/new build....

so i was thinking either of getting the AGP 1950 Pro (bottleneck i guess)...

or to get a 939 board (since mine is a 754) and get a 3700 or 4000+ .. or even a X2 ,.. totally confused on *** to do atm, seems a lot of u think that i should go for the MB/CPU not the graphics card

The PSU is fine.

Ran my opty 170 , GX2 system no probs. :)

What mobo have you got?

Have you clocked the cpu?

no i havent clocked since im on the poorest motherboard ever made and i never bothered to bring it in to replace it for free like i was offered (im an idiot :).. ).. its a Abit KV8 (yes... the nightmare without locked AGP/PCI clocks).. anyway.. iv decided to go the CPU/Mobo route for now as i found myself a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum 939 board to fit a 3800 or 4200 X2 in it... will enjoy doing some oc'ing finally after a long time using this crap mobo :P..

my 6800nu is fully unlocked and slightly oc'd , it keeps up in most of the stuff i play since i mainly only play wow :P.. altho i started playing medieval 2 total war and i noticed it has a bit of slowdown in bigger battles =/
