A few years back I built my first PC solely for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (after seeing a view clips of the game). I rushed it, didn't know anything and whilst it runs ETS2 perfectly I am itching for some upgrades to turn it into a decent machine and also a PC that looks decent through the window. I have already bought some new items and this is where I currently stand
OS - Windows 10 free upgrade from windows 7 64bit (recent)
Case - NZXT S340 (recently bought)
PSU - EVGA 650W G2 fully modular (recently bought)
SSD - boot 120g SSD and games 240g SSD (recently bought)and 1tb WD HDD
RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Motherboard - ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP Motherboard (Socket 1155, Intel H77, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX)
CPU - Intel Core I5-3470 Processor (3.20GHZ, 6MB Cache, Socket 1155)
GPU - MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Boost Edition 3072MB GDDR5
Fans - NZXT 120mm x 2 and Aerocool V2 120mm x 2
The way I see it is the CPU, motherboard, RAM and GPU has to go.
I am looking at:
CPU - Intel Core i5 6600K Processor (3.5 GHz, 8 GT/s DMI, 1150 MHz GPU, 91 W)
Motherboard - Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard (however if there was an option in just black or black and white / silver that would suit better)
GPU - GTX 1070 when released
CPU Cooler - no idea
I can pick up the CPU, board and RAM for £310 as I do not pay VAT so with a cooler I would be happy to come in at £350 with VAT off.
I play on my 1080p 50 inch TV however 4K may be nice if I get a new TV and my aim is to have games such as Dirt and Pcars looks as good as they do if not better than my Xbox One.
Another big thing is I will be recording my game play with the same machine probably to the HDD rather than SDD and also using the machine to record my Xbox One footage via my Elgato HD60, I will not be streaming.
I am not a huge pc gamer at present however I can see me using my pc for ETS2, Dirt Rally, Project Cars with the occasional other ETS2 style sim games.
Thanks in advance and sorry for such a long first post I just want to get this right this time round.
