CPU boiled watercooling loop

I was busy tidying the cables behind my computer and when I looked in the case I realised bubbles were coming from the cpu in the loop, I have one of thos clear EK waterblocks. I didn't expect that to be the water boiling but for some reason I checked the temperate on two different bits of software and it was showing the processor temps to be 100C. I then realised the pump had turned off. Now I thought when the processors reached TJ max they shut down. Does anyone know if this will have significantly damaged the processor?

I think most modern motherboards/processors are set to throttle back and slow right down when they reach maximum temperature, rather than shut down. I am sure there will be some motherboards that are set to shut down at given temperatures, but I think most just drop right down until they stop overheating. Still, better than the odl days (circa 2001) when Intel chips slowed down and AMD chips kept going until they melted:

If it was at idle, then 100c would definitely not damage the chip in any way. If it was 100c at load with your overclock, then it still shouldn't damage anything unless you were running it for a long period of time.
