Hello

Recently checked my rig for bottleneck using MSI Afterburner with log and screen overlay.

In Cod WWII it shows CPU at 100% pretty much all the time, GPU jumps around 20% to 65%
I have settings mixed low-high and good FPS
I have noticed moments of game pause but not as much as may expect if CPU is really maxed out.

I can't check another game right now, my wow sub has expired and Blops4 is live so cant try the beta.

I am so out of touch I really don't know my best options.
Sig has rig right now, what CPU could I upgrade to on an economy budget.. not setting a limit but don't wont to spend more than necessary.

Thanks in advance for any advise.

Cheers

Getting a 3770K and overclocking it would definitely help if you want to go cheap and second hand but if buying new then Ryzen 5 2600 is great value for what you get but that means upgrading mobo and ram.

Agree on both counts. well... unless you're wanting to switch to a newer platform away IMO the Ryzen rout is too costly.

Having said that a year ago i felt i couldn't put it off for much longer so i did change the whole platform from a 4690K, no regrets, and its done now, future upgrades simply means dropping in a new CPU and that's it.

Ryzen 2600 with decent mobo and 3200mhz ram will set you back £390. You should get about £140 for you current gear so a small outlay for a big upgrade.

I would think the faster of the two same Ram would have a higher chance of Samy B's, binning and all that. :)

wow, thanks for feedback.
If I wanted to just upgrade cpu with current rig, what would be best option.
I appreciate the new mobo/mem/cpu suggestions but was not thinking of a full rebuild right now, not ruling out but not first choice.

Not sure about comment to up the gfx settings, even if did that I still have a cpu issue? The settings are actually lower for Multiplayer play, easier for spotting and FPS genre (for me).

3770K, i think that's the best CPU you can get for the board :)

Although bottleneck calculator says the 3770 and 1060 are a good match it seems 3770 is old and difficult to get, and expensive still.
Seen some on auction sites but still get high price for used.
If I have to go down the rebuild road, what mobo/mem (16gb min)/CPU will be best combo to make most of my 1060 6gb?
Say £400 max?
I assume my PSU will be enough for anything newer.

Seen mixed comments on how good the bottleneck calculator site is so prefer the feedback here :)

Thanks

Comes to £390

If overclocking you will need an after-market cooler, this one will do the job just fine for £22
