Currently running the following

Intel Pentium G3258 Anniversary
Asus B85M-G Motherboard
GeForce GTX 960 2GB

When playing dying light I'm getting freezing for a few seconds. Not sure if it's just badly coded or if my system isn't up to it.

Any ideas?

To be honest everything else I've tried has been fine but it's not as graphically intensive as dying light.

Can anyone suggest what sort of OC I can expect to get from this chip or if I should just give up and stick an i5 in.

You do not need a Z series board for overclocking a G3258. I have seen people with H81 boards hitting 4.8Ghz with these cpu's. It's more down to the cpu than the board just like with the i5 and i7 cpu's. There's a load of results in this thread over at Anandtech forums for clocking G3258's in non-z series boards. My wifes Gigabyte B85M-D3H has a full set of extensive overclocking options in the bios and overclocks my 4670k to the same clocks with the same settings as my Hero. The latest bios for her board adds extreme vcore up to a crazy 1.65v!!

Good to hear :D
