CPU Bottleneck?

Looking to upgrade to a GTX980Ti and Acer XB271HU in the new year. Just wondering if any other part of my system (possibly CPU), will prevent me getting above 100FPS with games like Witcher 3.

Was hoping not to have to do a full upgrade if possible.

Thanks

I can't comment on the game itself as I haven't played it, but your CPU (same as mine) is perfectly adequate. :)

Some games you will have a bottleneck. I don't think the Witcher 3 will be one of them as i don't think it is too cpu intensive.

You'll get bottlenecked in certain places in witcher 3. Even at 1440p with "only" a GTX Titan, Novigrad market pushes my 4.8Ghz 3570K CPU to 100%. Fortunately this has a very minor affect on my FPS which stays around 60.

When you are out and about in world, CPU usage is very low.

You should be fine

My stock 5930k in switcher 3 at 4k + YouTube 1080p

Hits 99% on all 12 cores/threads

With 2*980s

You'll be fine with it. Got the same cpu running @ 4.6 here and it's really good at 1080p with a 144hz monitor. Battlefront almost always over 100fps.
