Hello guys, that's my setup below.

-Asus H110M-A Intel H110 (Socket 1151)
-Palit NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB DUAL Graphics Card
-Intel Core i5-6500 3.20GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor
-Kingston Fury Black 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4
-Seagate 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
-Corsair CX-M Series 450W 80 Plus
-Kingston 120GB SSDNow

I guess CPU is bottlenecking, for example in GTA usage of CPU is around 85-95 when GPU is around maybe 50%? I was wondering why I have FPS drops and reason of that is droping of CPU usage. What do you guys think, I'm right or not and what CPU would you recommend to swap for that?

No, it's just GTA V is a very CPU intensive game - one of the few early games that benefits from and utilises the quad cored CPUS.

An i5-6500 will not be bottlenecking a GTX 1060 - you could drop in a GTX 1070 in your system and it would be well matched at 1440p gaming.

What res do you game at?

so what you suggest to do if I would like to play comfortable in GTA 5? my res is 1920x1080

How big are the drops?

Do you have anything running in the background?

You can lower some settings to reduce the stress on the CPU - from memory i think 'population' and 'draw distance' have significant impact.

There are others too - worth researching as it's a common problem.

It drops from 60 to 50 but I can feel that. I close everything what is in the background before I start the game, I was looking for any solution to resolve this but nothing helps.

If you've researched and applied all the setting options to reduce the stress on the CPU, and there's nothing lurking in the background, I'm afraid i can't offer much more help.

The only thing i can assure you of is that your CPU is not bottlenecking your GTX 1060.

You sound like a hardcore player - so perhaps researching the benefits of the i7- 6700k with the game may yield favourable results. But i would put the money towards a Ryzen build if you were thinking of spending this kind of money.

What do you think to buy used CPU if it's working correctly? Which else of CPU's can you recommend?

I'm not clued up enough to recommend a CPU for one singular game which is notoriously greedy with CPU usage I'm afraid.

After a quick Google i found this - link

It compares the Ryzen 1600x against the core i-5s i.e. 12 threads against 4. It then gives a stack of bench marks at 1080p and 4k for comparison. You should find it interesting.

May help - but i would Google other sites too...

i would have to change motherboard also and I don't think so I have sort of that money if I would like to take it. Can you help me to find something used to swap for my currently CPU? I can spend around 220 pounds.

Yep, massive outlay for one game - it was to show you that your FPS isn't abnormal and how CPU intensive the game is.

I'm reluctant to advise you - as the odds are you will see very little gain for your outlay.

If you could sell your CPU and get a second hand i7-6700k then your outlay would be minimal - but i fear you won't get the FPS increase or the average steady FPS you desire... I may be wrong but i'm not knowledgeable enough to give you credible advice for one game. I would look at i7-6700 benchmarks with GTA and make an informed decision yourself.

Hopefully someone more clued up on GTA will come along - but I'm afraid I've offered as much as i know. And don't want to give advice that may cause you to waste money.

I found 6700k for 240 pounds, what do you think?

You might find another stick of the same model ram (to run in dual channel mode) would make a noticeable difference to minimum FPS for CPU intensive games and it wouldn't cost nearly as much as the 6700K. If it doesn't work well enough, you'd still have more RAM. Personally, there's no way I'd spend that kind of money upgrading from an i5 6500.

But if you're seriously considering this i stress you look at benchmarks with the i7-6700k in GTA V and, if you can, do a direct comparison to your present CPU.

You maybe able to sell the i5-6500 for ~£90 - a guess from the members market since the release of Ryzen - which would make the i7 approx £150. Even at this price this would prove expensive if you didn't achieve the smoothness in FPS you desire.

Tetras makes a good point re memory but, again, worth researching but cheaper and can make a difference in CPU intensive games especially as you're only running one stick.

EDIT: Looks like darket found a good link while i was posting - read the comments - dual channel seems to make real difference. I would research this some more - a lot cheaper and would be useful in other areas of your use too (depending in what apps/games you use).
