I am in the process of switching from a P4 3.2gig prescot (478/agp) system to AMD. Having always been an Intel user I'm hoping I won't regret it! Need some advise on CPU choice please.

Contenders are:-
Opteron 165, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+, or AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego 90nm.

Motherboard will be Asus A8N-SLi Premium & graphics will be HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1800 XL.
I 'm leaning towards dual core, but would like advise on which CPU will p*ss from the greatest height on my Intel (runs at 3.5gig rock solid 24/7 by the way)

opterons & opterons!?

What are the Opteron 2 series ie. 244, 248, 250 etc. 940 pin devices.
How come OCUK seem to be the only vendor with 939 pin Opterons?

These Amd chips are too confusing..
