Hi Guys
Hope someone can help, upgrading son's pc was looking at e4400 or e6550 but read some threads on the e2160 which made it more difficult to decide the best value cpu.

Cheers

The 800 FSB chips put less stress on the rest of the system when overclocking so either the 2xxx or 4xxx are good.

Do you have a mainboard and Ram already as dependant on what you have and how well that will overclock you may want to choose a CPU with a highish mulitplier.

I've got a 2160 at 3ghz and can tell you now, they fly!

2160+decent cooler has got to be the best road in my eyes.

The left over cash can be put towards graphics card :)

Hi

Well i just ordered a P35C DS3R and 2gb Geil ultra on offer this week, admittedly i had to order an E2180 elsewhere, and cant wait for the install. Hoping the O/c will be better on this chip than my current 939 X2. The outlay is about £50 once i sell my current gear!

If you're playing games with it, then e2160 every time. The difference spent on a better graphics card will make more difference in games.

This guy knows the score.:)

Get an E2140/2160, or spend the extra on a Q6600. There's no point going for anything in-between.
