CPU clamp too resistant?

Ok, so I'm trying to install a 2500k on a Gigabyte Z68A-D3-B3 mobo, but when I try and clamp down the CPU I'm getting a lot of resistance. I haven't forced it all the way down because I'm afraid it'll damage the mobo or the CPU. This is my first time building so I don't know if this is normal or not, but I don't want to risk it.

They are usually pretty tight, just make sure the CPU is inserted correctly and you'll be fine
