I've got a shuttle SP35P2 and only a few parts (lack of money) and want to put the CPU into the shuttle from my old computer the CPU is a pentium 4 HT 533mhz FSB but this is in compatible with the shuttle (a minimum of 800Mhz FSB) I want to know if theres a way around this problem without buying a new CPU.

I think your going to need buy a new cpu, newer boards tend not have support for older cpus.

I've never known a board to need a minimum FSB chip before..

Does happen, had a bunch of Aopen boards at work that did'nt take 400FSB Pentium 4s, only 533/800.. strangely would work with 400FSB Celerons, but any Pentium 4 i.e 1.7 Williamette or 1.6A Northwood etc.. would not work. Had a few AMD boards with no support for older Durons/Athlons on the original 200MHz bus as well.

To the OP, is this a P35 chipset? Did'nt Intel drop support for the Pentium 4 /D with this? The min FSB would be 800Mhz though so it likely would'nt work either way..have you tried the cpu?

Not yet i'm waiting for my locaol computer shotp to get XP Pro in and I won't move things from my old comp to the shuttle till I have everything I need for it.
