I'm wandering what CPU is compatible with my Motherboard? what's the best QUAD core CPU under £120 that can go with my Motherboard?

Intel core i5 2500k is WAY above my budget, so I'm considering getting a

amd phenom II X4 955, is it going to be compatible with Gigabyte Z77x-D3H?

I have -

GPU: Sapphire 6870 (Might crossfireX)
Ram: 8GB 2x4
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77x-D3H

I'm looking to play BF3 and MW3 with good quality, is it good for a £100 budget? or is there better

- Second hand market isn't a big deal for me, if you find any please direct them to me

Can't do that, there is a members market at OCUK which you need 1000posts and 180days registration time to access, other than that everything else will be a competitor to OCUk core business, as such cant be named.

Judging from his posts, i think the OP should turn this PC over to someone more capable.

My first build, thanks a lot go be 'helpful' somewhere else.

- New question, what's the best CPU I can get compatible with my motherboard for £120 and below?

(Reason why I asked will the AMD be compatible was because I still somehow had hope it did, I knew it wasn't but I had hope which led me to ask and become 100% certain it wasn't.)

Yeah good luck with your build, you'll need it.

Thanks a lot, will check them out -

Checked them out - I can't go for a Dual core, I'll need a Quad core. but thanks

If your budget wont stretch that far, then the i3 mentioned earlier is great, also watch this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4PDoy-mi0A&feature=g-crec-u

And theres some BF3 CPU scaling results here,

- I'm going to save up for intel i5 2500k, if you think about it £30 I can get in 1 week .. I can wait.

I don't usually enjoy watching single player as it's less demanding than multiplayer, for example I can play BF3 on my 2008 PC single player 50fps stable, however online..20fps? So I'm going to go for 2500k and overclock for 4.5ghz

You will want a aftermarket heatsink to overclock also, about £20-25, the stock supplied item is good for around 4GHz

Also check that you dont have tall RAM that can interfere with big heatsinks and that your case can take a tall heatsink.

I have Elite 430 Black Mid tower case, and 2x4 OCZ gb of ram, good heat sink I can get :)

Thanks a lot for the help

2nd hand i5 2500K around £120 is the way to go, but you will need to get a CPU cooler if stock cooler is not included, or some thermal paste if the stock cooler has been used before.

And for your reference, gaming wise the i3 2120 is as fast as Phenom II X4 at 4.0GHz, and faster in games that use less than 4 cores.
