CPU cooler £20usg

What cooler should I be looking for at about 20quid? Something thats pretty quiet but will keep cool temps for overclocking.

No it is'nt. The Freezer 7 Pro is extremely overpriced now. The Akasa AK-965 at only £12.64 is easily as good as the Pro.

I'll be removing my AC 7 this week when I fit water cooling, so it will be for sale if your interested. Its only 2 months old.

just reading the discription on the artic 7 and it says 3 pin conector but its a 4 pin one have they changed it,as would like one to connect srtaight to my fan control and need 3 pin connectors not 4 cheers

The 1283 isn't £20 though, it's closer to £30.

For £20 you're looking at the Arctic Freezer 7, though they can be had for under £15 if you look around (but that's not inc P&P like OcUK)

Funnily enough I just upgraded from the Arctic 7 to the Xigmatek 1283 this weekend, the AC7 is great for the money but the 1283 is worth the extra cash

The only time it doesn't is when the TRUE has 2 fans running at a good speed, so making lots of noise. Seriously who can be bothered listening to that racket for the sake of 1-2C?

The Xigmatek is an awesome cooler, especially if you want to run your PC overclocked AND within reasonable quietness

It's actually slightly quieter than the F7 Pro. Here's a review at Frostytech for you. They are the heatsink guru's.

Yeah the 1283 is quieter and cools better but it does cost nearly twice as much.

Also the bolt through kit is an absolute must. The push pins are ok on the F7pro but they're almost impossible on the 1283.

Not me, the fan on mine rarely goes above 600rpm.

In that case you'd get better cooling from the Xigmatek 1283

On the rig in my siggy, yes. With a window mounted triple rad.

On my second rig with a E5200 i have a freezer 7 Pro from back in the days when they cost £12.

I payed £17 for mine, I'm surprised they've gone up so much!
