since building my new system on Saturday, i found i couldn't fit my old cpu cooler (luckily 1 came with my new Intel i5 chip)

when i put it on the board, it wouldn't physically fit, 2 of the 4 legs were half a hole out and would sit on the cpu

i notice there is a rev2 of this cooler, is there any difference between rev 2 and (i presume) rev 1?

also any recommendations for a new cpu cooler?

Zaward Vapor 120 is very good cooler and OcUK will have them in stock this week

Zaward Vapor 120 and Geild Tranquillo:

Athlon II X4 620 stock @ 2.6GHz
Gelid HSF w/Gelid Fan @ 12v = 34c average 36c max
Zaward HSF w/Gelid Fan @ 12v = 33c average 34c max
Zaward HSF w/Zaward Fan @ 12v = 33c average 34c max
Zaward HSF w/Zaward Fan @ PWM = 800rpm @ 41c max

620 @ 3.12GHz PWM ? rpm @ 43c max
@ 3.25GHz PWM ? rpm @ 45c max
@ 3.38GHz PWM ? rpm @ 46c max
@ 3.5GHz PWM 600-1400rpm @ 46c max

All tests were on Athlon II X4 620 which specs at 95w TDP on open bench.
Ambient the same for all tests.
Have not tested on hotter CPU.

thanks for the suggestions guys, don't really know what to go for now, haha they all different ranges :) i know 1 thing though, i don't like the fastening that the tx3 has. had that on the arctic and the plastic pins were forever bending,

my main concern is them physically fitting the board,

i think its a battle between the vapor 120 and the gelid tranquillo

think ill be going with the gelid tranquillo

i wont be adding another fan, due to the 124mm fan above it in my case and the 120mm exhaust fan drawing out the rear, and another 124mm fan at the front drawing air in, so should be more than enough

Those other two options are still better.
