cpu cooler artic freezer pro 7

since building my new system on Saturday, i found i couldn't fit my old cpu cooler (luckily 1 came with my new Intel i5 chip)

when i put it on the board, it wouldn't physically fit, 2 of the 4 legs were half a hole out and would sit on the cpu

i notice there is a rev2 of this cooler, is there any difference between rev 2 and (i presume) rev 1?

also any recommendations for a new cpu cooler?

I have the non-evo though (which is even cheaper), kept temps on an overclocked 2500k just over 50 with prime95

If you want cheap then the Xigmatek Gaia CPU Cooler £17.99 inc VAT is awsome for the money but its tall, so check it will fit your case.

thanks for the suggestions guys, don't really know what to go for now, haha they all different ranges i know 1 thing though, i don't like the fastening that the tx3 has. had that on the arctic and the plastic pins were forever bending,

my main concern is them physically fitting the board,

i think its a battle between the vapor 120 and the gelid tranquillo

They are very similar and both good coolers. Vapor does come with clips for second fan if you want to go push/pull

New shipment expect early this week.

only issue is that on the vapor it doesnt state my chip size (LGA 1155)

I would go with the Gelid. It's pretty quiet and is capable of getting very good overclocks.

Cooler Master 612S at that price or for less, the TRUE Spirit 120.

Forget the Gelid, you can't even add a second fan properly.

i wont be adding another fan, due to the 124mm fan above it in my case and the 120mm exhaust fan drawing out the rear, and another 124mm fan at the front drawing air in, so should be more than enough
