CPU cooler - Core 2 Duo, Silent

Whats your actual system anyway? Ad what clock are you going to be using?
You could add a silent fan to the true, but youre going to be pushing your cost up

i might want to clock a bit ;)

this one says max 24db: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-052-AK
is it any good?

Looks like an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rip-off, and probably a way off the best coolers, and noisier to cool well. For around £30 for a very quiet cooler your best bet is probably a Scythe Ninja II - wide spaced fins so suited for low rpm fans. Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme is a bit better with a low speed fan, and a fair bit better with a higher speed, noisier fan. It's also a fair bit more expensive - around £40 + cost of a 120mm fan.

Yes and rip-off that has direct heatpipe contact on the base and cools a lot better. Its on par with the Sunbeam Core Contact too.

Apart from the stupid push pin design, this "rip-off" does an exceptionally good job for Core 2's and i7s alike.

Thermaltake V1 AX, they just look sweet :D

The one I had was REALLY loud unless it was turned right down, at which point it wasn't actually a very good cooler.

You might be able to use a Thermalright HR-01 with the blue fan duct, or an XP120 with a good quiet PWM fan (something like a Scythe PWM), but £30 isn't a lot for a proper performance cooler.

Oh okay, fair enough - didn't read the description properly.:o Think I'll just stick to water cooling matters!
