Hi, the noise of my Arctic 7 CPU cooler is really getting to me. The plan is to upgrade to Haswell either next month or the following (once I'm not so skint), but is there any decent CPU cooler which would work with my Q6600 & maybe Haswell? If not, what's the best CPU cooler for the old processor that doesn't cost too much? The noise of the Arctic 7 is unbelievable, if I stop the fan spinning my PC is absolutely silent, then the fan starts sounding like a mini-hurricane in my case. Any suggestions are welcome, I've only got the Q6600 overclocked to 3.0GHZ because I couldn't stand the noise if I overclocked any more.
Also, what is the best fan configuration for a Zalman Z9. I have an intake at the front and the bottom, and an exhaust at the rear and the top, does this sound right? I want to put a fan on the side but I'm not sure how it would disrupt the airflow.
