Cpu Cooler & Striker Extreme

I have an Artic Pro cooler which is decent, however the plastic push-pin mechanism is not.

I want a really good air cooler that uses a screw retention connection, but am mindful that the north bridge heatpipes on my Asus Striker Extreme board are restrictive when fitting a cooler.

Has anyone got any ideas of a suitable candidated off the top-off their head?

Yes, both the original and newer version of the Cooler bellow fit (original is close and you need move it about to just clear the Fins on Heatpipes around Socket.

The item above is the new version, better fan and 2 fins less at bottom to clear Mobo's plus its Nickelplated so it wont turn green one day (copper).

I have the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, which is an excellent cooler. I also have a Asus Striker Extreme so I can report it fits perfectly.

Tah for the advice.

Temps went from 29deg. on my Asus P5N-e SLI to 49deg. on the Striker Etreme using the same cpu and heatsink! Not sure what thats about. Possibly the NB heatpipes are affecting the temp as they run v. hot.

Thinking or diving into the world of water cooling to get that cpu temp down to room temp...

What CPU ?, (its probably not reading correctly esp if a Wolfdale).
