Hey guys im looking to upgrade my stock intel cooler that i installed when i built the machine a few years back now, i really fancied a contained water cooling unit but im not sure what to get - i have a lot of choice as ALWAYS!

Current spec
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Stock cooler
Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK Intel Z97
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 WindForce OC 4096MB
Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5" 7mm SSD
TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB
SuperFlower Golden Green HX 750W "80 Plus Gold"

I have not clocked my chip in any way the whole machine is running stock, i might be tempted to clock my CPU with the bios pre sets overclocks i have, but i would also like my machine to run quieter if possible.

Thanks a lot guys your all very helpfull as always.

I would really like to add more ram at the same time but i cant get the TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB from ucuk now, Can anyone suggest another 8GB of ram i can add to my machine.
Cheers

I can vouch for the corsair h100i v2.
Its excellent for the money, fans are interchangeable and all gets controlled from within the corsair software. I had a 6600k at 4.4 and it never went above 65 degrees on load. Its now cooling a haswell xeon and it never goes above 45, all while being very quiet.
It obviously depends on how much you want to spend. I didnt really have a choice but to go water cooled because I chose some stupidly huge corsair RAM. Many people on here recommend the cooler master hyper 212 for a cheap but decent air cooler.

Lower cost water coolers don't generally perform all that well. Unless you are really fixed on going for a water cooler you're probably better off going for air. Noctua and Phanteks are a couple of brands to look at but do check you've got the space for some of the larger ones.

Ok ill do abit more reserch but again im not looking for for a massive oc, only major things i do with pc are H1Z1 and Cs:go, any ideas on ram? im abit confused as to what i can put with mine?

TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

id pick a cheaper and better and quieter nh-d14 over that h55 any day.
only problem is the ram, yours has stupid big heatspreaders right ?

so i guess either find some more of what you have and remove the heatspreaders, or find a 2x8gb kit with normal sized heatspreaders.
2x8gb has better stability for high speeds e.t.c than 4x4gb.

Yes they do, im gonna take a look into my case at some point this week to see what space i have,

I would really like to just put another 8in rather than buy an additional 16,

Still so undicided on the cooler !
