Hey All,

I want to get a new CPU cooler and below are my options

Option 1

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/antec-h1200-kuhler-240mm-aio-liquid-cooler-hs-014-an.html

Option 2

I like the idea of water cooling but read a lot of horror stories of AIO coolers leaking and ruining parts etc.

the dark rock pro looks good and going by the name i would have thought it would be quite (fan noise) and also keep the cpu cool.

which would you pick? i currently have this, would either of the above make any improvement over temps and noise?

If you want to go down the AIO route I would recommend the following if you can stretch to the budget, and personally if you're going down the AIO route I wouldn't expect to pay less than £100 if you want something decent:

I've got it in my rig and it's super quiet, as well as effective when it comes to cooling & pushing my 6600K to it's limits. At idle it's roughly 26c for me and the max I have out of it with my 6600K @ 4.5Ghz is 62c under full load - even both fans only reach 1500RPM when it's at full load too, and barely audible. All of this while also in the Mini ITX territory.

I was also contemplating going back to air cooling when I was considering my new rig parts a little while ago but due to me using Mini ITX & being limited on space, I opted to stick to AIO water cooling. However when I was last in the desktop scene a few years back, I used a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro for sometime and it was a brilliant air cooler.

If you have th space the Be quiet should hopefully last you for years and years.

The issue I have with lesser aio's is they seem to have limited lifespan, The few friends who I know who have Aio's most of them seem to have had to replace the unit within two years.

A slight worry as the entire time you aio is down your pc less (Which for me is pure torture!)

I know its a waffle answer but I hope it helps.

I'd go with
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...iquid-cpu-cooler-cw-9060007-ww-hs-006-cs.html

I've heard that with the Corsair AIO Coolers then if it leaks and ruins your system you can get compensation provided you give them sufficient proof. Someone called them and got told this a little while ago:
"If in the case that a cooler is to leak onto your computer's components, after investigations, documentation, proof, and even possibly mailing out the product for analasys. If it is determined that the cooler was the cause of the component or module failure, corsair will be willing to warranty your PC's components and replace them."

Yeah but that could take months and cost a fair amount too.

Just picked up a Cooler Master Seidon for just £55. It's a 240 Rad with 2 year warranty. Def recommend it, it's focus is on very quiet operation rather than extremely low temps. It's strikes a nice balance. It's quieter than my last Antec AIO. Can't hear the pump either.

Well I went from the h600 to the dark rock pro 3 and it was the best move I ever made.
The reason I made the move was because the h600 had too much pump noise. It vibrated my card because the speed was so high and non adjustable.

Very happy with the dark rock pro 3.

Go Silent Loop or similar Alphacool OEM with copper radiator and decent pump. I have Silent Loop 280 and love it. I am radically opposed to CLC coolers in general, but Silent Loop / Alphacool are not CLC, they are AIO with removable components, copper radiator, pump with reasonable flow rate. hose fittings and hose with a fill port .. none of which CLCs have.

Silent Loop is only AIO I have used that I will continue using.
I've tried / tested several CLCs .. and couldn't get them out of my systems fast enough .. way to noisy for me.
