CPU Cooler (Which Way To Face?)

Hi,

I have my Be Quiet! SR1 Pro CPU Cooler facing to the front of my case as I have a nice 120mm intake of air come straight towards it.

I have seen a lot of people having their CPU cooler facing down towards the GPU.

What is the best way to put it? Surely the CPU cooler is intake and should be getting a fresh supply of air and not from a GPU blowing hot air out?

Thanks

Ideally you want it the way you have installed it so the cooler gets cooler air from the front of the case gets pushed across the coolers then gets extracted by the rear fan.

Some people have it so it draws air form the bottom of the case and exits through the top.

Id rather have it either blowing out the back or out the top of cases, closes unobstructed direction to get rid of the heat in your case both will get rid of heat as quick as possible from your GPU as well.

We want the cooler to get the coolest air coming into case going to cooler intake and cooler's heated exhaust moving directly out of case. What ever way that is will be the best way to have it mounted. ;)

That is at best half of what I said is needed.
Is cooler receiving coolest air possible?

Optimum cooling is coolest air possible to components. This means removing any heated air coming off of components as efficiently as possible .. without any of the heated air mixing with any of the cool air going to components.

Here's a basic guide to case airflow and cooling
