I have just installed my Ryzen 3700X, Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite and Team Group Edition RAM.

I'm now looking for a better CPU cooler, but noticed the RAM sticks need a 45.6mm clearance.

Was about to purchase the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, but just seen it only has a 40mm clearance.

What would be a best alternative option for me?

Also, just seen on the RAM description:

"Furthermore the PCB cover of the heatspreader can be removed, which reduces the total height to just 37 mm and markedly increases compatibility with larger CPU coolers."

Is this a simple and okay process to do? (Not really looking to overclock the RAM) Never heard of being able to do this before/have never done it and not really sure what I'd have to do.

If it's simple then could do that and would fit the Be Quiet!

that ram fits under the dark rock pro 4 with the heat spreader on. i own the same ram and cooler.

I think that 40mm spec is from bottom of cooler base to bottom of fan. If it is really RAM clearance then fan can be raised to 46.8mm at bottom of fins. Before these new 4 series their measurement drawings were to bottom of cooler. ;)

You can take off the top bit off the heatsink on that ram too
I have some of that ram and it fits under a dr2 pro (similar size)BUT it is a bit tight to get the ram in and out with the heatsink fitted but it can be done

I have the same motherboard, ram and cooler and it all fits.

Just raise the fan, the top of the fan frame is level with the top of the cooler.

It's a tight fit, but it fits
