Ok so i've just thrown out my old socket 775 board (well in so many ways.. i gave it my mum to replace her ancient 478 board..)

Ive ordered a new 1155 Board which is to arrive some point today..
I also have my memory which came the other day.. sitting and waiting.. Only, upon seeing my memory I've realised. This stuff is quite LARGE in terms of protruding from the Board..

So now the issue I have is the cooler I initially wanted to get, looks as if it won't fit with my memory..
----

Board in question is; Z68S-G43 (G3)

The memory I have ready to fit; Corsair Vengeance

And the cooler which I WANTED to get; Zalman CNPS10X Flex

----

Looking at the board.. and seeing that cooler fit to other boards on google image search, suggests I'm going to have problems.. I know I should have paid more attention before ordering the board which I did but too late now its in transit to be delivered within the next 18hours..

Anyone better knowledged able to help me with this? and if it is the case that it Won't Fit.. can you suggest a cooler that looks as awesome and performs aswell as this whilst keeping within the same price bracket..

Cheers in advance

I think most air coolers will hit that ram so that is pretty much your only option to remove the rams heatsinks u or sing a all in one h20 cooler like a corsair h60 or a antec kuhler 620.

Really would like to avoid the AIO H20 Coolers to be honest, nothing against them, I juust think they're quite unsightly and with the case / rig i'm building it's just not going to look the way I invisioned it.. I'm certain someone has had experience of using Air Coolers with this Ram so i'm interested to see what options there are.. Thanks though, if it comes down to it then i'd likely go for the antec kuhler anyways

I used to have those vengeance ram with coolermaster hyper 212+ and they fit just nicely. I suggest you croos check your cooler with the 212+ specs. If they are the same size, then youre 1 step ok. Last step is to check your mb specs as mb's are also different. My mb model is in my sig. Good luck

Yes with four dimm slots you can use 2 and 4 and it will most likely fit but you wont be able to upgrade to using all four as the first dimm slot is almost always covered by the fan or the heatsink..

Don't think your statement applies to all. Look at mine:

The flex won't hit it, but the fans will. I have the cnps10x performa and it sits ontop of my low profile ram perfectly with the included fan. Only way to fit it is to move the ram to the next slots over or fit no fan.

Really annoyed at myself for overlooking this.. I had my heart set on this cooler..!!

Have you tried using this cooler with the 'Pull' only fan setup? I'm curious to whether a fan with enough airflow in pull only configuration would sufficiently cool the cpu still..

I was initially going to set this cooler up with 2 x akasa ultra quiet venoms.. but seeing as this is a definite NO FIT setup now.. I'm curious to whether or not if I fit a single Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM on the pull side then with 110.3 CFM at full load (just under 40db though - although i'm not too concerned about the volume of the cooler as the rest of the case fans will be whisper quiet)

Its hard to tell because of the angle, but the fan is directly on top of the first slot

Better angle, but bad quality, you cant even see the first stick there.

I havent tried it in just a pull, but I doubt it will be anywhere near as effective.
You can lift the fan about 15-20mm (depending how much you want to bend the bottom fin). This will let it clear a set of G-skill ripjaw X's just.

Only way around it is to buy some LP vengance RAM (I think they do black in LP) or a remove the heatsink of your current RAM.

Short term option is I could use Slots 2/4 instead of 1/3 but come another few weeks I think i'll be doubling up on my ram so I'm going to need all 4 slots..
Still certain I don't want to budge on the cooler or the type of Ram, I'll check out if they do some Low Profile.. if not.. I may just remove the heatsink from the first ram module... or even just replace that single heatsink with a plain black low profile one..

If bending the bottom fin is viable and doesn't affect the cooling figures too much then I might just opt for that,..

Anyways thankyou for the input and the pictures to go off.I think you've pretty much set my mind for me.. I'll get this cooler ordered asap and once fit i'll let you know how I got on with it..
