Have a h50 in a rig I've managed to get a hold of, think I need to upgrade (i7 3770k?) I've been looking at the h100 but with mixed reviews...

Is it worth it?

Or if not should I move toward air cooling such as the Noctua???

The K2 isn't 'lots' better. It's about the same.
They're both great options. Pick the one you like the look of best.

I'd recommend a Phanteks or a Silver arrow, but your ram won't play nice with those.
Not 100% on the D14 clearing your ram, but the K2 will. You'll have to raise the front fan a little too.

Other than that, look at maybe a H80i with an eye on replacing the fans with Scythe GT's at a later date.

Ive just bought 2 sp120 fans instead :)

^ Completely agree.
I'll also add that the Scythes are better. Quieter too. Not as nice to look at though.

I wont be running them at full whack so i doubt i see much difference,

I really am still unsure :/, All the air Coolers are very big and it seems just easier to get a Corsair/Thermaltech/Coolmaster closed loop system, makes the case look a lot tidier too,

Any preference between the

H80/H80i/H100/H100i/Thermaltake 2.0/CM Seidon or anyothers??

Hey man, I'm an air cooler guy. But if you prefer the look of CLC then who am I to tell you different? :)

I'd personally take a K2 or D14.

Of the CLC's you're looking at, I'd probably go with an H80i/H100i if you put a gun to my head.
There isn't much between them, so I'd probably take the H80i.

Do some research into the issues and firmware problems that some users are suffering. I don't know what has and hasn't been sorted out yet.

Yer i know, I have been and this is my first look into CLC... I think the air coolers are just getting too big!!

Just the Phantom full tower, i know they will fit in just im just not sure i want to buy something that may not allow me to use all the RAM in my board, :/

The K2 will fit as I said. You'll just have to raise the front fan a little. If you prefer, you can run centre and rear fans instead of front and centre.
Better yet, get a better fan like a Thermalright TY147 (£5.99!), run it in the centre and replace both of them with no performance loss.

Other than that, and failing the H80i/H100i. fancy a H110 or a Kraken X60?
You could run a couple of nice, quiet 140mm fans on those if the stock fans aren't great.

They look great, I just cant seem to find one in my price bracket :/,

I havent tested it yet as Im waiting for it from the guy i got the PC off, i mean it shouldnt be, but i wasn't convinced in the reviews,

I basically just want a good Cpu cooler that will let me push it at 3.9-4ghz preferably pretty cold,
