hi guys I'm looking for a Air Cpu Cooler

My case is a NZXT 230 COD special Edition and motherboard Z170 Gigabyte Z3 Gaming

What would you guys recommend to fit in the case

thanks

I was looking at air cpu coolers recently. General consensus seems to be that Noctua NH-D15 or NH-D15s or one of the top Be Quiet ones (like Dark Rock Pro 3) are the best if they are compatible with your case/mobo.

I've just swapped out a Geld Tranquillo & installed a Cryorig R1 & its dropped temps down by 10 - 12°C on OCCT & Realbench.

Cryorig looks nice and doesn't have the gaudy colored fans that the Noctua has.

I have just stopped running an dark rock pro sr1 and it was fantastic. So the big brother would be fantastic.

I really didn't want to watercool to be honest this is why I asked what would fit as I'm not 100% sure

an all in one type cooler is as easy to use as an air cooler its nothing like custom water.

from with i can see you need a 92mm cooler or a top down as you have problems with height.

its 130mm tall with fans so yes this should fit, but you dont want to be spending £70 on a top down cooler.

NZXT site says - CPU Cooler 158mm

What CPU are you looking to cool? and i assoume your going to be overclocking. skylake CPU's run very cool when compaired to the last few gen's of CPU's
I have a 6400 @ 4Ghz only hit 65c when playing games with a stock intel cooler..

no overclocking

I7 6700 Processor

just been Playing Tomb Raider and according to Speccy CPU Temp was 49C and GPU temp 65C

65c is fine waayyyyyy FINE. how ever. here is a list of CPU coolers that fall in the size specs given by NZXT, if your NOT overclocking you dont want to be spending over £30 to just cool the CPU, any basic 120mm tower cooler will be a hell of a lot better then the stock cooler from intel.

But again i want to say 65c is fine and a lot of good cooler even some of the best will not drop the temps that much i would think 55c would be the best you will ever do on air.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £420.83
(includes shipping: £11.10)
