Hi all,

Looking to upgrade my Ryzen 5 3600 CPU cooler so I can overclock. I’ve seen great reviews on the Artic Freezer 34 duo and just wanted to know peoples opinions?

Mobo is Tomahawk B450 Max and RAM is Corsair Vengeance RBG Pro

TIA

The freezer is a good shout although for a tenner more you can get the scythe mugen 5 rev b which is pretty close the big noctuas in terms of performance. That said I'm using a wraith prism on my 3600 and a 4.2 all core OC at 1.325v and I don't see above 67 in stress tests and 50-55 during gaming. Could probably pick one up for around a tenner as a lot of people buying the 8 and 12 cores go for an aftermarket so plenty of prisms floating about.

Thanks for the advice, is the Prism worth it in the long run?

If your looking to upgrade to more cores 8+ in the future then it's probably better to get something like the mugen 5 then you covered.

Check the max height clearance for a CPU cooler in your case first, be a shame if you bought it only to find it's too tall. I nearly made that mistake when I bought a Lian-li PC011D only has clearance for up to 155mm cpu coolers & the Thermalright Macho SBM cooler I bought just about fitted.

@Grimley thank you!

I do like the look of the AF 34 Duo but more because it looks pretty. Is the Mugen defiantly worth the extra spend?

I have tendency of up the price every time I see something shiny or better

I think this is a billy bargain right now. Temps might be the same & 2 fans instead of one could make more noise but at least its in stock & cheaper. An absolute monster according to the specs, so check the clearance size in your case first.

That's a cracking price on a great cooler, good spot :cool:

I agree that Alpenfohn Brocken 2 cooler is a steal at that price. Great find Grimley. As I have a build coming my way on Monday I think even I will get the cooler in advance.
