guys i have a coolermaster V8,its like a brick and playing up recently,im looking into a cooling system for my new future build..

How is the H100i? I heard there was noise issues but with firmware update its fine?

Is there any other options? Around £80-100...its just for cpu, once i have my gaming machine in im gonna buy a full water cooling kit.

coolermaster Haf 912

i heard there was problems with the stock fans in the H100i,but fixed due to firmware?

would it be better to buy something else or the H1001 and moded fans ?

When I first had mine over 2 years ago there was a rattling noise from the fans.

This if I remember correctly was to do with the signal from the unit and the fans running at low speed.

I think there was a whine sound also at higher peak speed.

I seem to recall that a firmware update to the unit fixed this.

Corsair were also giving out free PWM 4pin fans as a replacement if you asked them.

If you are using Win8.1 the LINK software is also a pain in the rear as you may suffer from a pink LED and fan control disappearing in the software (google it and also google for how to fix it).

I think for ease of use, go grab a Coolermaster 240M Nepton.

I just made a post in the othe h100i thread about my rgb leds. so is it a windows 8.1 issue? I dont use the corsair software anymore so never kept up to date since it didnt work properly in 8.1 initially. Its only recently i noticed the led was messed up.

Well mine is currently a lovely shade of pink.

It is a Win8/8.1 issue.

It can be fixed but its annoying as it involves installing an older version of LINK that allows you to do a manual flash of the unit (the later versions do it automatically), flashing to an older firmware, then putting the newer LINk back on and stopping it from automatically trying to flash back to the newest firmware.

Or something like that.

Thanks,im just trying to get the best but whisper quiet soloutions for a High end gaming build im about to embark on,i have just had a new baby in the house and when i have time im looking to game a lot therefore attempting to keep the temp down but as quiet as possible...i just heard the H100i was one of the best Cpu coolers but flawed until recently..

So just looking about and reading as much as i can

edit.

Have they really still not fixed the Win 8.1 issues? I'm sure the issue was raised back in 2013!
