Just built an SG-01E with an E8200 processor with the Silverstone Nitrogon cooler. The CPU idle temps are 39 and 36 with RealTemp, rising to the high 50s after an hour or so of CoD4, which seems a little warm.
Has anyone got any recommendations for other coolers they're using? I'm wondering about the Zalman CNPS 8700 NT or the Thermaltake Blue Orb II - thoughts appreciated.
Robert.

i know if you gonna buy the Thermaltake Blue Orb II you will have to mod it. by filling of
some of the fins around 3mm should do it, in order to put the case cover on.

apart from that its an ok cooler. dunno if ita any good for ocing tho

as for the temps your getting now there spot on

im also on the loo out for a good cooler. im thinking of getting the
Coolermaster Gemini II,

If your not experiencing problems, then i wouldnt worry about those temps, as they are perfectly acceptable. i too have an SG01e with nitrogen cooler setup but with an E6750 running at 3.2ghz. My temps end up in the Mid 50's after prolonged sessions of CPU testing, and ive never had any problems :)

The GeminII is a pretty damn good cooler as it handles a 65W chip after a few hours of cod4 never going over 45, although my main problems are this stupid NFAIL 630 northbridge which hits 65 even after i changed the crappy stock heatsink out for a zalman one and also my ram reaches 55 because of nvidias fantastic design of putting the ram slots so close together. even with all this heat around the heatsink i think it does a great job if only i had a better motherboard.

I've recently installed a Zalman CNPS8700-NT into my SG01e. Temps are very stable and the noise level is low as the fan runs at around 1000rpm for the majority of the time. Due to its low profile there's more space between the psu and the cooler as well.

Thanks for the replies, maybe I should just wait a bit until the new Gigabyte boards are out and then have a play with something new.

Breezy - what about the Enzotech NB coolers, any better than the Zalman?
