Hey all, i'm hoping to upgrade to Ivybridge when it is released and i'd like to be able to overclock it as much as possible aswell, which means I need a good CPU cooler to keep it as cool as possible. I really like the look of the closed water cooling loops, but I do read a lot that you can get an air cooler that is just as good for much less, and it's the air cooler side where i'm really not informed, so any suggestions as to what people would recommend would be hugely appreciated, it'd be nice if people recommend specific fans to change to etc aswell as i'd like it to be fairly quiet and not like a jet engine at least if thats possible, thank you for your time :)

Thank you :) I forgot to mention I have a HAF-X case too so any cooler size shouldnt be a problem at all, but i'll look at both of those now then thank you, it's appreciated :)

I think the newer noctua d14 with lga2011 fitting could be quieter though as it comes with pwm type fans which can spin a lot slower. You can order the 1155 bracket from noctua for free.
