ive got a socket 754 athlon 64. im looking to get some more efficient heating, getting idle temps of around 50. was wondering which to get though. are the vapochill micos any good. what would you guys recommend

Vapochill Micro's are good yes, however why not try a Freezer64 Pro, they offer excellent cooling for the price and are very easy to fit

actually, havent checked cpu temp for a while. just checked and idle is 58. that cant be good can it. are these 2 recommended coolers going to lower this by any significant amount do you think. at the moment i have an old thermaltake sink in there. also, money isnt that much of an issue. i.e i wouldnt choose the arctic cooling freezer over the vapochill micro just because the micro was more expensive unless the arctic is going to lower my temps by the most. what will i see the best results out of
thanks

To be honest if your getting 58 at idle you must have either a seriously gunked up CPU cooler or you have more problems than just a new one will fix.

I wouldn't have thought a cheap cooler would bump up your temp that high unless it isn't installed correctly, what is airflow like? How long has the cooler been installed?

my whole system is about 2years old. havent changed any of the parts since i got it. was a pretty decent system when i got it. so, what would you recommend. you think i should maybe reinstall the heat sink. idle mobo temp around 31 so dont think airflow is too bad, just my cpu heating up a lot. not sure what could be wrong really
