I have just finished my first build and everything went to plan :D

I ended up going with the AMD A10 5800k. I am using the stock clock speed.

However when I try to look at the CPU temperature with CoreTemp it says N/A for all four cores.

The only way I can see the temperature is to going into the BIOS and it sits at 51 degrees. Not sure if this is high for this processor?

Could anyone highlight why the CPU temp cannot be seen?
Furthermore, is it worth buying an aftermarket cooler to lower the temps?

Thanks!

Yes it is worth to buy a cooler since temps you are getting are too high for any amd. To check amd chips temp I would recommend core temp or hwmonitor.
What is your budget?

See I even think that temperature is not correct, because the heatsink isn't even hot to the touch.

Budget for the CPU cooler is basically the cheapest good cooler.

Thanks
