CPU dilemma

Hi

Have a bit of a dilemma

Currently have a i5 2500 this is not a k its i5 2500.
mobo is a asus maximus iv extreme z68 skt 1155

imo the cpu is holding back the gpu (evga gtx680 signature) IN (bf4 /3 planetside 2 etc)

I can upgrade the processor to a i5 3570k/ i7 3770k (reflash the bios as well) and also get a 2nd gtx680 in as well

or i can take a new mobo and processor maybe a fx 9590 and a 990fx (crosshair or sabertooth)


Whats going to be the best.

Gave it a shot but still maxing the cpu out and dropping frames at those times.

3570k or 3770k read that the i5 is better for games ( pc is a games machine only. Nothing else the work pc does the rest)
or amd 9590.

Would probably get a new cpu cooler also ( currently a coolermaster v6)

I game for 2-3 hours per day. During that time i just want stable fps and a good experience
 
Not worth switching to AMD when you already have such a good motherboard.

Grab a 3770k and a decent cooler and get overclocking.
 
Ok semi sorted ( thanks to you all so far) i7 route think will be best as i can reuse my i5 as a back up rig and the son can inherit the q6600 rig

1 i7 3770k in basket
1 msi gtx680

should i get a corsair h100i or reuse my coolermaster v6 gt and purchase another ssd ( currently only have 120gb and running lowish might have to delete a game)

Would the h100i give me way better temps? My case is a cooler master cosmos s and every place has a fan never seen high temps so far but cant overclock )

Ps should i repost in cooling

H100 aren't that good one of the staff even said some thing similar in one the Ocuk sales threads.

Think its in this one some where, OcUK Tech Labs Fathom All in One Custom Cooler
