CPU Enabled AUTO?

Hi in my bios where you can selected how many CPU to enable where you select it says Auto. On the left of that it says 4. I have changed Auto to 4 would this heat up more or is this safe? I have a 3770k at 3.5. Thanks for any info again :). When it does say Auto how may cores does it use?.
 
You have 4 cores and 4 hyperthreading cores, I would leave on Auto as I would if thought you will want to use all cores.
 
Thanks. I no I am asking a lot of ??? lately it just that I want to make sure I am doing everything right and want to make most out of this PC with out blowing it up.
 
select auto = all cores, if your looking to overclock I suggest reading a few guides out there. What motherboard are you using?
