CPU error

i bought a system with a i5 2500k in it and it said this in device manager up untill i had a "overclocking failed!" error and now it says i5 2400 could people of manipulated the settings or is it a problem with the bios am not sure would love to see what you guys have to say on the matter

Pop into the BIOS and re-load (hopefully) the saved overclock profile, hopefully this should put you back as you were.

Hi, just updated my BIOS and still no change showing i5 2400 @ 3.1 ghz and my CPU wasnt OC'd in the first place anyway ... i'm really stumped.. installing a new CPU Cooler next week anyway so i can really see if its a i5 2500k i ordered or infact a 2400

Ah I see, you could well have a 2400!

Download CPU-Z and see what this shows, like you say, you will definitely find out when you install a new cooler, I would email the place of purchase and complain.
