CPU errors, reported by Google

Intel might be onto something with being on 14NM(sarcasm). However,on a more serious note, when it comes to critical military/space/commercial chippery they tend to be made on lagging nodes, especially those which use SOI. These tend to have much better radiation resistance, and better defined characteristics than the bulk nodes you see being used in most consumer products.

Notice how this info has come out now since google and twitter switched to epyc servers at end of 2019.
Amd does have higher cpu failure rate and errata. But now some light is shed on it hopefully it gets better in future generations.

Saw this and wondered if this is why we are seeing more CPU errors these days. Thankfully both my Ryzens have been fine but it might point to more problems as nodes drop even lower.

Bitflips is going to become an increasingly popular method of hacking and malware in the coming years unless something changes.

basically we rely on the fundamental laws of computing that 1+1 always = 2 and when that is no longer the case, all hell breaks lose

i guess its not a real issue unless when gaming you get hit and insted of taking 10% damage and extra 0 sneeks in and you take 100% damage. lol
