Hi guys.

New to forums.Hope Ive posted his under correct section

I have a crosshair iv formula and have purchased a set of 2x4gb corsair vengeance ram modules.

When installing these when i realised how big these are!

I currently have stock am3 cooler so no problem ATM but i want to buy an air cooler.

Gotta feeling im gonna struggle to fit them under most CPU fans.

Any recommendations or if you have the same setup maybe?

Im not looking to watercool as im not an "overclocker" (mainly because im too **** scared)

Cheers.

Hi Harshuk, welcome :)
As regards your question, given the clearance needed for those modules I would recommend either a Corsair H80i or H100i, paired with a set of Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15. Closed loop solutions are amazingly effective and leave you the option to overclock in the future as you become more comfortable with your system. I've had my "classic H80" for a decent amount of time now with no worries at all, and paired with those fans it is the business.
If you are dead set on a decent air cooler that is unlikely to collide with those memory modules I'd have a look at the Zero Infinity Phantom Knight. Go for the red one for that MOBO I reckon, should look the business ;)

Before you a Corsair CLC read threads here about their problems and quality control issues. Just the last week a couple of guys here have had pump failures. The RMA rate is very high on these.

Shouldn't your ram be in slots 2 and 4 anyway?
Almost any single tower and a few dual tower coolers would fit without troubling tall ram if configured like that.

Ok thank for the advise.

Just if anyone could answer if corsair vengence low profile 2x4gb (in slot 1 and 3) with normal corsair 2x4gb in slot 2 and 4.

Thus If it would giving me clearance for pretty much any air cpu cooler to my choice.

Sorry for not explaining myself

I'd reconsider that case if I were you :)
I just looked at a review and it's not really cutting it in terms of features, build quality and airflow.

You can do better for your money unless you've found it at a rock bottom price.

Well there are contradicting reviews the bit tech review does slate it. But I watched a YouTube review which gave it a good score :s

Also for the money it's an awesome looking case.

Looks ain't everything :)
Flimsy build, no top or bottom fan provision, limited space for cables behind the mobo tray, front USB3 needs to be routed externally to the mobo sockets etc...

You can do better.

"Houston, we have a problem." Assuming you have the 52mm Vengeance and not the Vengeance LP your air cooler selection is very limited.
Corsair Vengeance LP is 32mm
Corsair Vengeance is 52mm
T28 has 160mm CPU clearance.. Add 5mm to that minus the RAM height and that's 132mm fan clearance for Vengeance LP and 112mm fan clearance for Vengeance.
You can only put 120mm fan over Vengeance LP in T28.
You can only put 100mm fan over Vengeance in T28

Most normal popular coolers probably won't clear 52mm RAM.. and your case will not any normal front fan to fit over RAM.

Coolers that should fit are
Thermalright Macho HR-02 is 162mm tall but might fit. Sometimes manufactures measurement are conservative.
Macho 120 is 150mm
True Spirit 120 is 160mm tall and 52mm center of cpu to front of fan
True Spirit 120M is 145mm tall and 54mm center of cpu to front of fan
Zalman has some that will fit, like CNPS9900 MAX 131x94x152(H)mm

Without knowing exactly what the measurement from centerline of CPU to RAM is there is no way to be sure what all will fit. I'm assuming it is at least 55mm so above coolers will fit. If you have more than there are probably others that will fit.

I believe I could still return my sticks and swap for Low profiles.

Sounds like a good idea to me and will make shopping a lot easier!

Definitely get the shorter RAM. 32mm RAM will allow most cooler/fan combinations.. if case has 168mm CPU clearance 140mm fans will clear too.
