My pc has started to have some temp problems (only when playing certain games) and its pretty loud so I figure its time for a new cpu fan but I've no idea what to get any advice?

Thanks

EDIT: I should mention i am NOT overclocking

why would you not overclock with 990X and 8350? is the current fan stock?

what's the budget? how do you measure temps and what are they?

what's the fan setup in case?

Not really sure what budget i would need

using the stock but i just never bothered with overclocking (not really an expert)

everything about the fan and setup is stock yet when playing say dota2 (the only culprit i have identified) it reaches 85 centigrade when it shuts down

thats pretty cheap looks good

my main concerns are it fitting in the case and it providing significantly better cooling than the stock fan

that will cool but the problem is that compare to kefans suggestion it has like half of the heat pipes and a significantly reduced heatsink so would not cool as well and for like £3 difference the difference would be massive

If your not going to overclock I would go with kefans suggestion but it you are going to overclock then go with the h80i my m8 has a 8350 and had I bit of a problem with air cooling it

I agree, the EreBoss is a good 160mm tall cooler at a good price. I wouldn't even consider the H80i. They are louder, cost way more money, will only cool a little better the £29.99 EreBoss. For less money than H80 costs you can have a top tier air cooler that will cool much better , be much quieter, and last longer .. and never have to worry about the pump failing and having no cooling at all until you replace the entire cooling system. With air cooling if a fan goes bad it still cools enough to use system at low load .. and it's easy to strap on any old fan until you have a proper replacement .. that costs a fraction of what H80 costs. .
