Hi,

Every time i switch on my pc i get the Bios set fan alarm going off for around 10 sec, this is because the CPU fan has not span up yet. As soon as the fan kicks in the alarm goes off. I know i could turn the bios cpu fan off but i want to leave it on as a failsafe feature. This issues happens on 2 pc's i have built same spec. Not a majour issue if there is not a fix, just means i get to hear a nice alarm everytime pc is turned on. just though i'd ask the question !

Core i7 920, Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R.

Yes, until the fans get up to speed, it will sound an alarm saying the fans are not fast enough. But it shouldnt take 10sec to start the fans up unless they only kick in as the cpu/heatsink heat up.

Swap out your fans make sure they are actually running from the moment the power switch is pressed, if they are try updating your bios, although I have same mobo and haven't had this prob.

What cpu cooler are you using, you might need ot adjust the settings in the BIOS, ie from PWM to std.

Off topic question, but how easy was it for you to take your i7 to 4.0ghz? i just used the easy tune app to take it up to 3.2 but i am thinking of taking it higher, any advice?

Just looked in the PC health status menu of my bios:

CPU fan fail warning - enabled
CPU smart fan control - enabled
CPu smart fan mode - auto, this can also be voltage or PWM.
