Hey all

I just installed my Antec Kuler 920 and Im getting the message CPU FAN ERROR on post. I have all the cables connected properly and i am unsure what to do.

My mobo is Asus P8Z77-V Pro

Any ideas?

HELP :(

Is the CPU fan spinning? does it's speed vary to the CPU temp in windows?

If yes, then you need to adjust the Low fan speed settings in the BIOS.

I sometimes get the same error, so have just set it to IGNORE the speed warning :p

I boot to windows and installed the software but chill control does not pick up a speed and the antec kuler logo isnt lighting up on the cpu block yet...
what am i doing wrong? :(

I don't have a clue about the cooler you;re using, so you should wait to hear from someone else about that ;)

You should try not to use ignore, because if the fan does fail, it won't tell you :p

Try lowering the warning speed to 200 RPM and see if it lets you boot. (your not setting the actual q-fan to ignore, you shouuld only set the warning speed as this is what is preventing you booting)

Make sure you haven't set anything else to ignore, as this could be why you're not seeing the speed in windows.

EDIT: you posted as i was!

If it's a 3 pin fan conneted to the cpu header, q-fan wont be able to speed control it. Asus boards can only speed control 4 pin PWM fans connected to the cpu header.
