Evening all,

Right as the header said, I have started getting a warning message on boot-up simply stating "CPU Fan Error", but I can clearly see the fan spinning, I have checked the connections and they are all plugged in securely, tried taking it out and putting it back in, still same error, ran a bios test and came back as no errors found?! (WTF) O.o

I am waiting on my brother who is a lot more skilled but he is not due down for a couple of weeks to a month...

I have so far just disabled the error message on start up so I don't have to hit F1 every time.

I have RealTemp installed and it tells me everything is running standby 30-34C and playing FarCry 3 its evens out around 40

I have the following:-

Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366)

Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard

Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet CPU Cooler(754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/775/1155/1156/1366)

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

AJ

Is it in the CPU fan socket, or is it in another socket?
Either way, if it's spinning and you've got the error not to display, no biggie.

Yeah all checked and double checked, not worrying to much, just annoying I cant get rid of it, like an itch that wont go!

Maybe try another fan in same socket and see if it still shows error.

Yeah that's the next option but I gave my spare one to my brother -_-

Trying to source one from a few friends but no joy and don't want to fork out any cash lol

Well you're safe for now, so hold out for a spare fan if you canand give that a try for free at least.

Yeah I think that's the best option too,

Until it starts overheating I will just ignore it :P

Cheers all!
