Hi guys,
The short story is i'm trying to install a Raijintek Juno Pro ADD cooler on my cpu (i7 3770k). When i first booted up BIOS warned of a CPU FAN Error, due to the rpm being below 600. I set the warning threshold to 200 which stopped the warnings, but once windows booted up i saw the cpu temps are around 90-100C.
I'm guessing I either haven't set it against the cpu properly (it was very fiddly to install), or it's something to do with this extra connector it has. It has a normal 4pin fan connector which i've connected to the CPU_FAN header, and another one that I don't recognise with a little label on it that says "V5". I assumed it was something to do with the RGB lighting and so not important, but maybe it is?
The really long story, for those interested, is that my radiator leaked a bit and i only noticed because the PC started rebooting randomly. I removed all the water cooling parts and ordered a cheap cpu cooler so i could at least turn it on and try to work out which parts were broken. Of course that's turning out to not be so easy, as i had to remove the "thermal armour" (stupid asus sabertooth motherboard) just to fit the cooler on, and it's still not working properly. I suppose there is also the chance that water has irreparably damaged the motherboard which is causing the temp issue.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions!
