Hi,
I have just built my new desktop, with the asus p8z68-v PRO motherboard. I have a 2600k with the antec kuhler h2o 620.

Upon restart, i get a error which states - " Cpu fan error - press f1 to enter bios" or something like that. Any way to stop it? or fix it?

At the moment i have no fans in the cpu fan headers, but in normal 12v fan ones. I have ordered a viper to go into the cpu fan header for PWM, will that fix it?

Thanks

I get this problem on my mobo to. I do have a fan in the CPU header but it is working perfectly fine. It says press F1 to continue so it doesn't actually get in the way, it is just an annoyance. I find it only does this from a cold boot and not if I just do a restart for some reason. I don't know of any way to fix it though.

i have the antec kuhler h2o 620, and i dont have it plugged in into the CPU FAN header. is this what is causing it?
I have it plugged into the 3 pin case fan which delivers 12v electricity to the fan.

thanks again.

If that's the case then I would do what gazzaman2k has suggested, assuming you have nothing connected to the CPU fan header. Leave it on the 3 pin header as the pump requires full power at all times in order for it to cool your CPU efficiently.

Do you think it would go away if i added a PWM fan ( akasa viper) to the cpu fan connector? Ill attach the fan to the radiator.
Thanks

It'll probably still appear. When I got the error I noticed the fan connected to the CPU fan header attempts to spin but fails to, then spins normally after I press F1. When I attached that PWM splitter I linked the problem disappeared.
