Ever since i built my computer 2 weeks ago, i have gotten a 'cpu fan error - press f1 to access bios' message. When i go to the bios - my 2 cpu fans are running fine.

I have a 1100t with a thermalright venemous x cpu cooler with two 120mm black apache fans on a crosshair v formula motherboard.

any suggestions on how to fix what ever it think is an error?

What does the fan speed show on these, as they might be spinning to slow for the motherboard to register a reading.
Also you do have the fan plugged into this header - sorry had to ask :(

It's nothing to worry about. It's a feature of ASUS boards, it throws the error if nothing is connected to the CPU_Fan header. You can either connect your fan to that or simply ignore the message. You can also disable the message in BIOS.

sorry for the late reply, i went for lunch after i posted this.

I am getting 1374 (cpu fan 1) and 1388 rpm (cpu fan 2) upon startup.
I have the fans slotted into the cpu fan header, and opt cpu fan header.
with the main push fan into the main cpu fan header.

I will just have to turn off the notification - how do i turn it off without disabling any other notifications that may come through?
